This six week live online course is designed for learners who are completely new to Twi and want to begin speaking with confidence while learning the culture, rhythm, and meaning behind the language.

About This Course

Twi Foundations I: Akwaaba is the starting point for learners with little to no previous Twi experience.

Twi is one of Ghana's most widely spoken languages and an important part of everyday communication, family life, history, and cultural identity.

Under the guidance of Teacher Frank, students will develop a strong beginner foundation through listening, pronunciation, repetition, vocabulary, sentence building, cultural learning, and live speaking practice.

The goal is not simply to memorize a list of Twi words. Students will begin learning how to understand, respond, and communicate.

Welcome to Twi. Explore Ghanaian cultural context, foundational Twi sounds, pronunciation patterns, and your first useful expressions.
Week 2 | Greetings, Responses & Respect

Learn everyday greetings, appropriate responses, courtesy expressions, and the cultural importance of greeting others.
Week 3 | Me, You & The People Around Me

Introduce yourself, share simple personal information, use beginner pronouns, and begin talking about the people around you.
Week 4 | Everyday Questions & Conversation

Ask and answer basic questions while expanding useful vocabulary for natural everyday interactions.
Week 5 | Numbers, Age & Daily Life

Practice numbers, counting, age, simple descriptions, and language connected to common daily situations.
Week 6 | Let's Speak Twi

Bring your new skills together through guided conversation, listening practice, review, and a final beginner speaking experience.
